Round 6 2019 Report
Under 8’s: Overall, the girls are really working hard at moving in the centre court and breaking into space. Great shooting and excellent defence- lots of intercepts. Player of the week was Eve for moving the ball down the court and making space.
Under 21s: Another great win for our 21s to keep their spot in the top 4! Each player is working so hard to do their job and the ball is just seamless down the court. Special mention to Sophie who played Centre all game despite an injured (and suspected broken!!!!) hand.
Open B1’s: Another win for the B1s! We were able to pull off a 40-32 win against the team that was equal to us on the ladder, placing us in at 3rd even with our slow start to the season. I couldn’t pick standout players because everyone was unbelievable. Thanks to those who played when they were sick or were not supposed to return from injury yet and the legends who are happy to give any position a go!
Open C1’s: Such a close game! After pulling ahead in the first quarter (go team!!) we lost by only a few to a team who seemed a lot younger than us.. although it was a team we can definitely win against and it’s making me more excited to see what we can do. Thanks to Dominique for filling in for us!
Open C2’s: HUGE WIN TODAY FOR THE TEAM!! Finally had the full team together and boy did it make a difference! The second that first whistle was blown, the girls fired out of the starting gates. There was never a doubt in our mind that this game was ours to take. The opposition did well but were no match. Shauna made her return this week from what looked like a relaxing week away but seemed to leave her shooting skills in Bali. Luckily she picked up her game in WA and proved that she is a permanent mid court player out of the circle.
