Match Reports - Round 4 - 7th May 2016

OLOL 11 Def Glenhaven 5 Under a pale blue sky and 10 degrees our girls were bubbling with enthusiasm to start round four. Looking to keep their undefeated record in tact. A well drilled Glenhaven team started extremely well putting our defense duo, Laura and Aliera to the test early, our team scrambled and it was a massive team effort to hold their opponents to be just 2-0 down at the first break Accurate shooting from Lauren, landing her first three goals from three attempts combined with excellent ball control and some handy passing from Holly and Stella kept us in the game to be trailing 5-4 at 1/2 time. The third quarter saw Mia moving to center and Matilda to Wing Defense they really put their stamp on the game. We saw some great passages of play with swift movement up the court. Amelia chiming in to land some important goals, OLOL starting to surge in the third to be 6-5 in front. The final quarter was set to be a nail biter and the girls rallied together. Aliera on her birthday and Stella came up with some critical interceptions and Laura continued her outstanding defense. Mia and Matilda guided the team forward and our sharp shooters Amelia and Lauren benefitting from some good ball and extended our lead to finish the game 11-5 victors. It was a courageous win from the girls to come from behind. By listening to their coaches they improved as the game went on and hold themselves in good stead for the next match.
