Match Reports - Round 3 - 30th April

Under 8’s – OLOL v Castle Hill Sports Win: 14 - 0

Wow! The rain and slippery conditions certainly did not deter these girls on game day, they were on fire!

Another great game for our under 8’s, with so much of what we’ve been learning in training being demonstrated on the court on game day.

Our shooters Stella and Lara worked well together to get close to the post to shoot. Both girls shot extremely well, taking their time and going for rebounds. They both looked for our C and WA to assist them with positioning themselves closer to the post.

Aliera and Amelia were brilliant in centre court, with quick passes off the centre and finding space for the next pass as well as sticking with their players when the opposition had the ball.

Holly, Mia, Tilly and Lauren all had time in both defence and centre court. All girls were fantastic in both attack and defence, working well to bring the ball up and down the court, as well as defending their player. Our great defence resulted in many intercepts!

Player of the week went to Tilly. Tilly worked hard on the court, demonstrating much of what we had been learning at training. She stuck with her player, resulting in lots of intercepts and found space on the court for the next pass. Well done Tilly!

Under 11’s – OLOL v Glenwood Loss : 25-6

The score line certainly didn’t reflect just how hard our girls tried on the day and how well they played.

Our shooters Jess, Emily S and Ella had their work cut out, with possibly the tallest defence we’ve come up against in past years. They all worked seamlessly together, trying to find clear space within the circle and positioning themselves well for the shot and rebounds.

Our centre court players Emily T, Bea and Cate were relentless in their defence and attack. The game was super fast with lots of turnovers and these girls worked tirelessly bringing the ball up and down the court. A particular mention goes to Bea who had some amazing intercepts on the day.

Alex and Olivia were superb in their defence and sticking with their players. The girls read the play extremely well, which resulted in a few great intercepts and turnovers to our team.

Player of the week went to Jess, who’s shooting was on fire. Although her opposition stood heads above her, she never gave up, and kept moving to find a solution in the circle – well done Jess!
