Round 2 ~ Under 8 Green Match Report ~ win 13 - 2

After four wins on our gala day last week, the girls turned up on Saturday morning eager and excited to play their first full match.

When the whistle blew, the girls sprang into action, moving around the court looking for space. Amelia (C) made sure she was everywhere, always working to move the ball down the court. Mia (GA) and Aliera (WA) were quick off the mark for our centre passes, giving plenty of options. When the ball was in our goal circle, Mia (GA) and Matilda (GS) moved the ball around, using fast passes to get to the goal ring quickly.

When the ball was in our defence circle, Lauren (GD) and Stella (GK), worked together to stop Tangara from scoring goals. Stella made some outstanding intercepts and when she took a throw in, Holly (WD) and Lauren (GD) moved around looking for the ball, working hard to lose their players.

The second half saw Lara come in as C, Aliera move into GS, Holly into GK and Mia to WA and Lauren to WD. Lara worked hard in C, always looking for space and providing options for the team. Aliera (GS) and Matilda (GA) moved around the goal circle, trying to get nice and close to the ring. There were some great goals scored during the match. Holly (GK) made a big effort to stick to her player and made it quite hard for Tangara to move the ball around their goal circle.

This week, Player of the Match went to Mia. Tangara were playing with 6 players and when they had the ball she made a huge effort to help out and block Tangara’s players. She listened at training and worked hard to find space. Great game girls!!
