Round 12 - Match Report
8 Green V OLOR
What an exciting game the U8 Green team had on Saturday!
Playing against a tough competitor in OLOR, the girls really had a battle on their hands. With OLOR leading the first half of the game, it took real perseverance from all 9 players that took the court throughout the game, to make a comeback in the 2nd half.
It was a nail biting game, which unfortunately saw OLOR take the win, with only one point the difference at full time, but it wasn't without the fantastic efforts of Cassie Pacheco as GK, who spent the entire game sticking to her player like glue, and making life difficult for the OLOR shooters. Cassie's efforts saw her take out "Girl of the Game" this week - WELL DONE Cassie!!! A special mention to ALL of the girls this week, as their game certainly challenged them all, but it also allowed us to see how far they have come under their fabulous coach Jackie........ Great job Jackie!!! Looking forward to seeing what the last couple of games bring for our amazing U8 Green team - Keep up the great work girls!

8 Navy V Rams
Wow! Smiles all round on Saturday! The girls played remarkable netball, and made their coaches, parents and most of all themselves very proud. It was so good to see just how well they all jelled as a team and how well they worked together bringing the ball down the court and into our shooters. Our defence Emily and Matilda worked well, sticking like glue to their players, as well as getting countless intercepts (well done girls). Our mid court, Isabella, Charlie, Lauren and Emma also did a great job in moving the ball through the mid court with quick passing, looking for their players and trying to keep their passes safe. Emma defensively did a great job deflecting the ball countless times resulting in a ball turn over for our team. Our shooters, Elise, Georgia and Lauren (Q4) were on fire!
They all did a fantastic job in passing the ball within the circle and positioning themselves well to take the shot, resulting in a convincing win for our team. We even shot one goal through the top hoop!! Our player of the match this week went to Georgia, for her great circle work and shooting. Milana was ill this week, but we hope to see her back on the court next week.
U9 Gold V RAMS
Thankfully we were greeted with more pleasant weather for our game this week.

Our Team Captain Mia was successful in winning the toss and electing first centre. What followed was a very intense few minutes of play. Some solid OLOL team work had the ball progressing towards our goal end however; RAMS provided competitive and solid defence. RAMS were able to intercept some of our excellent passes or just simply put our team under pressure. This was going to be a very tough game!
Our quality mid court (and goal third defence players – Georgia, Portia, Mia & Tiara), managed to divert the ball away from the RAMS players ensuring in the first quarter they did not have one single shot at goal whilst Outstanding effort girls!
Once again, our defence players were exceptional. Angelina was supported by either Tiara or Allison and throughout the game they communicated so well that despite RAMS possession of the ball, they only managed 8 attempts at goal!
The majority of our goals were scored by either Melissa or Zoe. Melissa played on courageously despite a nasty fall early on in the game. Our only goal in the final quarter came from a GS substitution - Olivia. Shooters, remember what we observed from our quality opposition last week? If you're close enough to the goal post, believe in your ability and take the shot! This week we shot 10 goals from our 20 attempts = 50% success rate.
There was no official player of the match as Coach Lena was so thrilled by the consistent play by all our players, she felt you were all deserving of this accolade!
With only two games remaining in this season, our focussed and committed training should ensure further development of our skills in this great game.
Our sports inspiration of the week: Small daily improvements are the key are the key to staggering long-term results (author unknown).
10B1 V Winston Hills - Win 18-8 What a game! The girls played lovely netball, and showed us once again some real "razzle dazzle" on the court. Although the score line was 10 the difference, Winston Hills was tough competition on the court, with strong attack and defence, our girls really had to work hard. Our mid court was on fire, with some fantastic intercepts from Cate and Bea. Emily and Mariana moved the ball done the court well and into the circle with some quick passes into our shooters. Jess, Alex and Olivia all worked well together in defence, Olivia and Alex getting some great intercepts and Jess some great rebounds. Well done to our shooters Emily and Ella, who both worked extremely well together in the goal circle with quick passing and positioning as well as some fantastic goals. Our player of the match this week went to Ella, who is showing real improvement in the goal circle.
11D1 V RHAC - Win 26-16
After a 3 week break for the girls they were excited to be back on the court and proved it with this great win!
By the end of the first quarter the score was 7/5 our way. Marisa (WA) was strong in her attack and seemed to fly through the air when catching the ball. Naomi (GD) showed great defence and strong passes.
Alana (C) and Isabella (C) were tireless in their efforts to get the ball into the circle. Faith (GK) and Olivia (GK) showed great intercepts and strong passes. Emma (WD) showed awesome ball skills and Nicole (GA) and Lorraine (GS) worked great together getting in those goals.
Erin (WD) was player of the match. Back in the game after an injury...she did us proud! Congrats Erin and a big thank you to our fantastic coach Vesna.
