Round 10 - Match Report

8 Navy V Glenwood

Even though it seemed like a chillier start to the day, the girls were out in force warming up, full of smiles and energy, keen to get started with Emma at the helm being captain.

Milana was on fire in defence, getting intercept after intercept. Tilly took a spill in the first half but being the trooper she is, got up and resumed her atom bouncing play around the court. Georgia and Tilly worked well together in attack with Georgia securing our one goal for the game.

Charley went well playing defence in the first half and switching to offence in the second.

Lauren and Elise made a good combination in defence making the opposition have work hard to get the ball in the circle and shoot.

Emily had a good game in centre, while Izzie was strong in attack.

Congratulations to Milana for player of the week.

As always – thank you to our wonderful coaches - Jacqui, Courtney and Cameron.

9 Gold V Castle Hill Sports

After a few days of dreadful weather, it was so fabulous to be able to take the court and play netball!

Our game this week against Castle Hill Sports (CHS) was a very hard battle. Testament to this was the fact two whole quarters ended up being played off the first centre - not to mention the final score was a "soccer" type result.

Whilst 9 Gold were victorious; it seemed when our girls were under pressure, some of our "2014" bad habits slipped back into our game. Definitely our lack of use of the court combined with some very average passing allowed CHS opportunities that in previous games, just would not have happened.

Allison our Team Captain was quite the versatile player this week playing three different positions during the game (as did Portia).

Olivia, Georgia and Zoe kept the pressure on CHS defence and worked hard to transition the ball to our end of the court.

Melissa, Zoe and Portia were busy trying to work their magic in the circle and Angelina and Tiara had to work incredibly hard to shutdown any opportunities CHS had in the goal third.

This week our shooting accuracy was 18%.

Our Player of the Match was awarded to Mia. Mia is to be congratulated on a stellar game. She worked tirelessly chasing balls on the court and successfully zoning her player from even getting close to the ball! During one quarter Mia made three fierce contests for the ball an won every single time. It was so inspiring to see that determination in your movement on the court Mia - well done!

Our sports inspiration for this week: A good netballer plays where the ball is.

A great netballer plays where the ball is going to be.
