Round 6 Match Report

8 Navy V OLOR
Great game girls and magical goals to both Emma GA and Georgia GS.
Great centre court work by Milana and Isabella.
Working hard and so very proud of all of you.
Congratulations to Emma - player of the match
8 Green V St Pauls
Another great game for this team who continue to excel in team work, skill and determination.
Our shooters, Sophie and Sarah together scored an impressive number of goals, with the rest of the team providing great defence, quick passes and keeping the ball in OLOL hands!
Player of the match this week went to Abigail for her excellent defence, sticking with her partner and intercepting of passes.
Well done, Abigail and well done team!!

9 Gold V OLOR
What an action packed game we had on Saturday! OLOR provided quality opposition for 9 Gold; yet our girls dug deep and played some outstanding netball.
Thanks to Mia who was our Captain – winning the toss and choosing first centre. Literally within seconds of the game starting we had transitioned the ball successfully to our goal third and yes, a beautiful goal by Melissa to set the tone for our fourth consecutive win of the season.
Melissa was our highest goal scorer this week but even more pleasing was the fact we had three other girls successful in the goal third. 9 Gold really are the versatile team with goals also being scored by Portia, Allison and Olivia. Our shooting accuracy has moved from the mid 20% average to 50% this week! I hope everyone is practising at home – who knows when you might be wearing the GS or GA patch?!
Our golden centre court combination of Georgia, Mia, Zoe, Portia and Angelina worked tirelessly to ensure the ball did not make its way to OLOR’s goal third. Well done girls; your impressive team work meant OLOR didn’t have their first shot at goal until the second quarter!
Allison recovered well from a nasty fall during the second quarter. Portia had to retire sick after half a game – get well soon Portia and a big cheer to you for playing so well despite feeling just awful - you are an inspiration.
In the third quarter OLOR brought out their secret weapon; a very tall GA who kept our agile Olivia moving. Did I mention this player could shoot? The only two goals for the whole game from OLOR came from this talented player. Our tight defence and very clever reading of the game by Tiara ensured she didn’t have too many shots at goal – but both times the GA intercepted the ball and had a shot - she never missed (regardless of where she was in the circle).
Congratulations to our "Player of the Week" Zoe - you did a remarkable job of transitioning the ball around the court in addition to clever marking of your player all game!
We have been reminding the girls at training they need to train like they want to play – it is obvious to all our wonderful supporters on the sideline that in such a short time how much the girls have grown as individual players. Keep up the commitment girls – it makes Saturday mornings a highlight for us spectators!
Finally, our sport inspiration for the week ahead … Don’t let a win get to your head. More importantly, don’t let a loss get to your heart.
Under 10 V RAMS - Win 22-7
It was a really good game of our girls this week.
The girls showed their concentration since the beginning of the game, at the end of the 1st quarter they were already ahead 9-2 . Emily S was on fire and she scored most of the goals, Jessica looked very comfortable playing in attack and defense. Olivia and Ella showed her strong defense and great interceptions. Emily T and Mariana always looked for the free space. Caitlin and Alex showed great passing skills and positioning.
Congratulations to Ella, who was player of the week. We missed Bea this week.

11D1 V Rams – Win 19-12
Well the season is well under way and the girls are definitely into the swing of things. It was an exciting match against Rams but our girls maintained their composure and came out on top to win 19-12. The first quarter remained close with Erin and Nicole scoring 5 goals with Rams scoring 4. Bella maintained her pace and did not stopping running. The second quarter saw Emma intercepting the ball well and Olivia watching and reading the game to allow our girls a 7 point lead by half time. The girls keep up the pace in the second half. Marisa and Lorraine were great in defence. Faith and Alana were running all over the court and passing the ball down to our shooters. Rams had many opportunities but our girls were able to keep the pressure up and come out on top. Great game girls.
